«Disco of 80’s» - a unique festival of AUTORADIO. 6th edition of this festival takes place in Saint-Petersburg. And all of the visitors over the last years know that «Disco of 80’s» - is not just a gig, it is truly bright holiday of 80’s generation.
AUTORADIO’s festival «Disco of 80’s» - it is a sea of light, sound, smiles, romantic and nostalgia. Above all – familiar favorite tunes which combine the whole generation, whose youth fell on the impetuous and difficult 80’s of XX century. There are legends about that epoch. A decade when a period of «stagnation» in few years seemed to be a remote past, and «wind of change» excited thoughts of all men.
A notorious “wind of change” took away all of this all of a sudden, and now we are sinking in nostalgic disputes about the price of “andropovka” in 1984, like old men, who’s destiny is only memories.
But still the music of our generations is lively. It does not matter that the time has gone, the songs of 80’s, kind, simple, most of the time naïve are still with us. It is music of our generation, generation of 80’s. You can easily manage without these melodies, but it is enough first beats to resound, you feel involuntarily the fragrance of the spring and the breath of youth, sweetness of a forbidden fruit and rapture of togetherness. We know, what is a secret of simple tunes of 80’s, and this knowledge unites us.
Today these songs you can hear everywhere, but, at this rate, most of them are on 88.4 FM «Autoradio». Here they are logically close to each other within the bounds of one programme – «Disco of 80’s».
Popularity of music of 80’s led to the metamorphosis of the programme at the «Autoradio» in the idea of the live festival «Disco of 80’s». 6th edition of the festival will take place in Saint-Petersburg. Unprecedented success of the previous festivals means that music of that epoch is still loved and is in demand by St. Petersburg residents. At one stage will be idols, whose inflammatory tunes excite not only those, who dashingly danced at the discotheques of 80’s, but the rising generation of the children of the pioneers of the disco.
The idols of the whole generation will appear at the stage of New Arena On November 25th:

Traditionally, the hosts of the 4th hour race will be the main disc jockey of Soviet country Sergey Minaev and unchallenged co-host Vladimir Markin.
Who are they – participants of the forthcoming festival?
A real sensation of the forthcoming festival will be an appearance of inimitable prima of russian variety, idol of millions of people of USSR, a performer of the main hits of 80’s – Alla Pugacheva! A woman, who is singing became a real symbol of that era. A status of “Honoured Artist of RSFSR”; prize “gold microphone” for the best singer from “Dinacord” company (FRG); performances in Parisian venue “Olimpia” and Italian “Olimpiko”; release of cd’s in Sweden and Finland; status “The most favourite woman of Finland”; “People’s artist of RSFSR”; medal “For contribution to the peace and harmony by musical means”; grandiose tours at the biggest venues of USSR and abroad – there are only few landmarks of the 80’s biography of Alla Borisovna. And, of course, the music of that period of time is still on everyone’s lips; wonderful duets with Raimonds Pauls and Igor Nikolaev.

Kim WILDE
English pop star of 80’s with a debut single «Kids In America», which in 1980 found itself at the second place in Uk charts. Her famous songs ïîçæå «Cambodia», «Kids In America», «View From A Bridge», «You Came» became a gold fund of pop music, still on the radio and TV. Her songs are distinguished with refinement of acoustic backing, melodic brightness, inclination to available forms of disco.
Gloria GAYNOR
She became famous in 1974, when her album "Never Can Say Goodbye" was released. It became gold and went down in history of disco as first dance non-stop programme (Honeybee-Never Can Say Goodbye-Reach Out, I'll Be There).
Even today it is trivial; in 1974 it came as a bombshell. New-York dj’s just went crazy, unceasingly playing persistent disco-suite in performance of Gaynor. No doubts, this album became a landmark in development of disco music, and Gloria Gaynor became one of the key persons of disco. Gloria still is in good shape and her appearances always become decoration of any concert.
Demis ROUSSOS
Gold voice of Greece, Demis won his popularity mainly because of his concerts, which brought him an improbable quantity of fans. It was marked by BBC and they made a 50 minute special reportage «ROUSSOS’s phenomenon», which brought him a real furore. At the same time, ROUSSOS became a star with such hits like êàê “Goodbye My Love Goodbye”, “Schones Madchen Aus Arcadia”, “Kyrila” è “Auf Wiedersehn”. Almost all the last 40 years Demis successfully is on tour all round the world. Concerts in Moscow, Montreal, Rio (de) Janeiro, Dubai became a part of his life.
BAD BOYS BLUE
The most workaholic disco band from Germany. For 20 years of its existence the band has released 16 albums and more than 20 hits, reached all charts from Europe to USA. Total number of their CD’s exceeds 20 mln copies.
THOMAS ANDERS
In 1987 after disintegration of «Modern Talking», which sold more than 42 mln of his records, received 40 “platinum” and 200 “gold” awards. Thomas Anders concerned himself with his solo career. His performances still pass with a huge success and his coming is always an event for disco of 80’s fans.
MATIA BAZAR
After 26 years of its existence an Italian band Matia Bazar sold millions of album copies all over the world and acquired nationwide love. Coryphaeus of Italian pop music, famous by its exceptional «melodiousness», perfectly combined with dance rhythms, Matia Bazar at the moment are not a museum exhibit: the band recently has performed with a huge success at the 51st San Remo festival, where they performed «Questa nostra grande storia d'amore» - one of the best songs from their new album «Dolce Ñanto».
Another adorning of this concert will become an appearance at the stage Russian varieties and rock stars - VLADIMIR PRESNIAKOV, VLADIMIR MARKIN, SERGEY MINAEV, MURZILKI INTERNATIONAL, SDRAVSTVUI PESNIA, SLADKIY SON, VLADIMIR SALTIKOV
