Guys from Apocalyptica had started to play at their cellos hits of their idols – Metallica 10 years ago. Unusual acoustic backing as well as drive energetic from hot Finnish guys with bows in their hands became a guarantee of the growing success of musicians.
From the moment of first show and release of the first album "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica By Four Cellos» band has played more than 500 shows in 60 countries, has released 6th albums that were sold in number of 3 mln copies, as well as created their own repertoire. Apocalyptica is one of the most successful and unordinary bands of Europe.
6th Studio album of Apocalyptica with name “Worlds Collide” was released in November, 2007 and legally is considered to be one of the best band’s albums. In its recording participated such cult persons like Corey Taylor from Slipknot, Dave Lombardo from Slayer, Till Lindermann from Rammstein who has performed German cover version at «Heroes» of David Bowie. At the album also worked Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Adam Gontier (Three Days Grace), Japanese composer Tomoyasu Hotei. Album was produced by Jacob Hellner; he worked with Rammstein previously, that obviously are the fans of Apocalyptica.
«We wanted to record an album of world level», - one of the leaders of the band Eicca Toppinen told in one interview. – «For us it was amazing time. We were lucky to work with such musicians, I am still excited. After 11 years of existence for the first time I felt that we are one team and we can work together. Exactly now with such band we can awake people who know Apocalyptica, but never bought any of our albums and never visited our gigs. We want to be heard by the whole world».
